But Brazil and the United States still have much more in common beyond the geographical aspects: popular music that is widespread worldwide (and shares many common characteristics), a similar ethnic composition and, above all, historical analogies, which we discuss in Some historical evidences of supersynchronicity — Brazil and USA.
Another significant coincidence is that both countries have their “alien city”. Roswell, in New Mexico, became famous in 1947 due to the Roswell UFO Incident; Varginha, in the state of Minas Gerais, became known in 1996 for the Varginha UFO Incident.

Some cultural similarities between Brazil and the USA

Five last facts about Brazil and the USA: the first is the largest Catholic country in the world, and the second is the largest Protestant country; the USA is the second largest democracy in the world, and Brazil is the fourth; the largest communities of Japanese descendants are in these two countries; Brazil and the USA, in this order, are the two countries that open the work of the UN General Assembly; and the central banks of Brazil (BACEN) and the USA (FED), through their respective monetary policy committees, COPOM and FOMC, hold meetings on Wednesdays to set interest rates; these meetings coincide several times a year, in what is called Super Wednesday.
We also find parallels between French Guiana and the Republic of Guyana, between Haiti (and its capital Port-au-Prince, ‘Prince’s Port’) and Jamaica (and its capital Kingston, ‘King’s Town’)[1], between Martinique (French territory) and Dominica (former British territory), and much more. (Again, I ask the reader to be patient: these relations will be shown in due course.)

[1] Note the similarity in the spelling of the names of these countries in French: Haïti and Jamaïque. Furthermore, they are the two largest countries with a 100% black population in the Caribbean.
